Testimonials

“Receiving support from local Trusts, like Langtree, makes a huge difference to smaller locally based Charities in Gloucestershire, like GL11 Community Hub. Langtree’s targeted support helps GL11 provide vitally needed community services to disadvantaged people locally. From Food Pantry and Cost of Living Advice, to activities for isolated older people and those living with disabilities, in the southern part of Stroud District most affected by economic deprivation and the poorest health outcomes.”

“The Langtree Trust's generous £550 contribution has significantly enhanced our Mothers in Mind (MiMs) program at Home Start Stroud and Gloucester, providing crucial resources for a 10-week Peer Support initiative. This funding has created a warm and supportive environment for mothers facing mental health challenges during pregnancy and beyond. With the Langtree Trust's support, our MiMs sessions have become a space where authentic conversations flow, lasting bonds are formed, and a profound sense of belonging takes root. The resources enabled us to empower mothers, encouraging resilience, fostering connections, and reinforcing the belief that they are more than enough. We are immensely grateful for The Langtree Trust's commitment to our community and their instrumental role in helping us achieve our objectives of providing meaningful support and connection to local mothers.”

"The Langtree Trust has been instrumental in helping the Stroud District Foodbank establish a distribution centre at The Arkell Centre in Nailsworth. Their generous funding and support made a significant difference, not only enabling the Foodbank to operate but also allowing for the opening of a Warm Space/Café within the same venue.

As of January 2025, over 150 foodbank referrals have been made. Both the Foodbank and the Warm Hub/Café are regularly visited, simplifying the process of collecting food for those in Nailsworth and the surrounding areas. Visitors also have the option to enjoy a warm drink or meal while waiting. The Warm Hub/Café has become a vital community space, welcoming people of all ages (0-80 years) to meet, access support, and enjoy warm meals on-site. It serves around 45 visitors each week, providing essential services and fostering community connections.

Additionally, The Langtree Trust provided special funding at Christmas, allowing local families to visit the Panto in town and host a children’s party at The Arkell Centre. The event featured food, games, face painting, and a visit from Santa, who brought presents for the children. This festive occasion brought joy to many and further strengthened the sense of community and support."
